This mural project was created as part of a renovation process for the Davidson & Union 166th NYCHA development in the Bronx, NY. In the Fall of 2024, Lead muralist Eric Miles met with residents to develop the mural’s theme, create collage artwork, and suggest revisions to mural draft designs. The mural was painted on polytab/parachute cloth sections in a studio setting and then permanently installed on an exterior wall. The theme of community unity is explored through a quilting motif and images of multigenerational images of families together, inspired by historical figures and movements for social justice.
